Kindle vs iPad

When it comes to reading, people are very particular about the device. The most preferred and popular names in reading e-books are Kindle and iPad. However, reading experience cannot be the same on both the device. There are different aspects of the two devices and a comprehensive comparison can detail out the experience of reading on the devices.

Both the devices were originally meant for pure text reading. The black and white texts and rough images made up the devices. However, both the devices have evolved a lot with time.

Display

The Amazon Kindle has the screen size of 6 inches with 600*800 display resolution. The monochrome colored screen is quite handy for reading with 167 screen ppi. There is no touchscreen in the Amazon Kindle as well. On the other hand, the Apple iPad is a big 9.7 inches tablet with LED backlit multi touch display. The 1024*768 display resolutions with 132 ppi make it one of the best for reading. The fingerprint resistant coating and multilingual support also make it quite amazing.

Connectivity

Both the devices can be connected with the Wi-Fi and media can be downloaded. The devices come with USB Connector as well. Both the devices have Photo Viewer support.

Hardware

Apple iPad races ahead in this aspect. It comes with three variants of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB flash drive. On the other hand, Amazon Kindle has only 2 GB of internal storage.

Battery Performance

Amazon Kindle is far better than iPad here with up to 15 hours of battery performance. Apple iPad on the other hand has only 10 hours of backup. However, the Kindle can have very long battery performance.

Reading

Amazon Kindle is meant for only reading but Apple iPad can be used for lots of things including playing games as well. Hence, it is important to compare the basic feature of reading. Amazon uses e-Link for reading and that suits many readers. However, the responsive and fast iPad can be brilliant for reading as well. The brighter and bigger screen also eases up the reading for iPad whereas the Kindle lags behind in this.

Amazon Kindle is basically promoted as Text Reading Tablet and may be spared to be compared from the technology aspects with iPad. However, as it comes to reading, the Apple iPad surges ahead due to the features and design over Amazon Kindle.
